New Year, New Collaborations

Happy 2013! In this unfamiliar territory I could really use the comfort of knowing that I am not the only one who wrote 2012 on my notes and then had to awkwardly change the two into a three so not to have to start all over again on a new sheet of paper; was that just me?  Anyway, it's back to school now, and I am feeling so crazed already with midterms coming up, more SAT's, and the rest of the anxiety that comes as a package deal with junior year. 2013 is definitely going to be a tough one for me, but if I can make it through, I know 2014 is going to be the best year of my life! Hope everyone had a great new years! Now, back to fashion...

It's not news that everyone loves a good collaboration (need I mention the recent frenzy over MMM x H&M?), but it looks as if 2013, at least spring 2013 anyway, will be the year for designer collabs.  And no one is happier about it than me!

Being a 16 year old, I don't exactly have the funds for designer clothes all the time.  That is why I just love, love, love collaborations.  I'm always the first one there at Target when they team up with those big names, and 2013 will be no different!

There are just a ton of exciting collaborations this spring.  Prabal Gurung has a new collection for Target, Mary Katrantzou is finally coming to America with denim pieces for Current/Elliot, and Chris Benz has a line of Cambridge Satchels.  There are so many it's hard to keep up!  I'm sure there are more that I'm missing, but these three definitely stand out in my mind. Here are some shots from each:

I love all the pastel colors of the Chris Benz Cambridge Satchel bags! I think a lot of pastels can work as neutrals, and I may have to go get that lavender one...or maybe the blue?

I am so excited that Mary Katranzou is finally coming stateside with her collection for Current/Elliot.  Some of the printed details are post cards and travel stamps from various countries, and if I can't actually go to these places, I figure wearing them is the next best thing.

There has only been one photo released from the Prabal Gurung for Target collection and you're looking at it.  If this shot is any indication of what the rest of the collection will look like, I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it.

These are only three of the lines hitting stores this spring; it is definitely a season of collaborations! I will certainly be getting up early and waiting on line for these collections, will you?

Twenty Twelve

2012 has been a pretty great year for me.  I got my first job, attended my first real fashion show (Marc Jacobs SS13), met some of my heros at Fashion's Night Out, and finally started a blog!

I have only been a blogger since November, having finally been given the time to sit down and create one thanks to Superstorm Sandy (the only good thing to come out of that storm), but I thought it would be nice to round up my outfits from the past two short months as my last blog post of 2012. I want to thank everyone who follows me and posts all of the sweet comments; I really appreciate them even if they are only to promote your own blogs!  I hope to continue to grow as a blogger and as a person in 2013 as much as I have in 2012.

I don't really have any specific resolutions, because I think that they create an unatainable standard and we end up failing ourselves.  I have big goals, of course (get into college), but I prefer to start small (gain more blog followers).  I really just want to become a better person in 2013. Happy new year!

Grouping these pictures has made me realize I really need some more shoes! And now for my corny signoff: See ya next year!

Florida Blues

Back from Florida and I actually miss it!

It was so nice to get out of the cold and as far away from my school as possible these last few days, and, as much as I love New York, I'm more than a little sad at the prospect of heading back into the dreary rut that is junior year of high school.  I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!

I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in forever, and I wanted to include at least one from Florida on here. So here's a few shots that I had my grandma take while we were out shopping in Mizner Park:
