Hi guys!

Decided I wanted to do a little monthly roundup of some of my favorite Instagram shots from September, with some quick descriptions of what I did throughout the month!

I had a crazy stressful but also really fulfilling month that included starting my sophomore year at college, fashion week, parties, traveling to Duke, and so much more. You can check out my Instagram @sophielewis423 for all of my latest pictures, but I hope I can continue doing this each month just to share a few tidbits of what I have been up to!

So, it's been a really long time since I have written a blog post. I'm not sure why. I think it's mostly because I haven't been as interested in taking photos of my personal style recently, and I also haven't really been motivated to write anything down. That's why I have been keeping up with my YouTube channel; it's just so much easier for me to film a video of myself in my bedroom than to go out and have someone take pictures of me. But I don't want this blog to completely die off, especially because I am still super active on YouTube and it is nice to have this site as a culmination of all of my Internet things.

That being said, I have no idea how frequently I will post, although I have a feeling that I will start to post frequently when I go abroad next semester, as I will have so many amazing photos from all over Europe. I always liked keeping this blog as a sort of personal diary to look back on so I really want to continue documenting my life on here.

Moving on to what this post is actually about, I wanted to post a couple of pictures from Generation Beauty, which took place last weekend. Generation Beauty is a beauty convention hosted by Michelle Phan's company Ipsy, and it was basically a three day event for YouTubers to connect with companies and for fans of YouTube to meet the vloggers they watch. I think the most fun aspect of it was the creator pre-party. I met loads of people who I really admire and made some amazing friends within the community. We also got an INSANE swag bag full of products to test out and share with our viewers, which you can check out in the haul video I posted. The convention was also amazing, and the brands who were there were all really lovely and so sweet to the creators. I appreciated that there was no crazy fangirling at the event and no major security issues like there are at some other YouTube conventions. The whole weekend was really well put together.

Anyways, I'm not sure if anyone is around to still read these but I have enjoyed writing my thoughts a bit instead of speaking them like I do on my channel. I really want to get back into treating this like a personal diary, so I hope I will get back into documenting the events I go to, places I travel, favorite products, etc. See you soon!

New In: GoPro Hero 4 Silver

Hi everyone!

I thought I would share some images of my new GoPro, as well as the first video I have filmed on it. I have wanted a GoPro for years, and I am so excited to finally be able to capture all of my travels.  I decided to start out with just two accessories: the chest harness (which seemed the most versatile) and a short, floating pole (which just makes holding the camera easier and will float if dropped in water).

On all of my NYU videos on YouTube, the most requested video I have been asked to film is a 'day in the life of an NYU student' video. I personally find it quite boring, but people apparently wanted to know all about my homework. It was a great opportunity to test out the new camera in a situation where there was no risk of me losing it, dropping it, missing something, etc. (as I could have on an adventurous vacation). The camera has a slight learning curve when using it with the app, but other than that I found it so easy and fun to play with. I can't wait to take my new camera on adventures! Shout out to my parents for this awesome birthday gift. :D

Some looks from Carmen Marc Valvo

Hi everyone!

People are always asking me about fashion week, so I thought I would make a post and a video about it!

If you don't know, I am the beauty/style editor for the Washington Square News, NYU's student newspaper.  We were able to get tickets to about 75 shows, and we sent photographers and writers to each one.  I spent most of my time editing and posting articles, but I did attend three shows myself: Ohne Titel, Nicole Miller, and Carmen Marc Valvo.  I had so much fun (especially sitting front row for two of the shows), but it has been so nice to relax this past week now that it's all over.

What did you think of nyfw? Check out NYU's coverage here!

All About NYU | Living in NYC, College Parties, Grades, Making Friends, Celebrities, and more!

Hi everyone!

I feel like I haven't written a post in forever, and honestly it's just from a lack of inspiration to do so. I have been home for break for about a month, so I certainly cannot blame school work for my lack of blogging, but I have definitely been keeping busy!  I went to Florida, got the flu, worked at Forever 21, got a summer internship, and have been appointed as the Beauty/Style editor of the Washington Square News.  What have you been up to?

Now that we have gotten the life update out of the way, I thought I would share a recent video with you from my YouTube channel (where I have been posting regularly, unlike here) all about my experiences at NYU.  Based on the comments that I have received, people seem to have A LOT of questions about NYU and NYC in general, so I have decided to turn this into a sort of regular series on my channel where I answer viewer questions all about school.  Feel free to leave me questions in the comments here if you have any! I hope you find the series helpful.

So that's just a little update for now, hopefully I will start posting on here more regularly again as I have missed it.  Have a great weekend and happy belated new year!

B&W OOTD

Madewell flannel, Free People jeans, Sam Edelman booties, Urban Outfitters bag and bobby pins, Michael Kors watch, Dannijo bracelet

I've found that since I have started living in NYC, I only wear black, white, and grey (gray? I don't think I'll never use the right one).  I try to wear color, but I find that the easiest way to get dressed is a lack of color head to toe.  So when I packed to come home for Thanksgiving, I literally didn't bring anything with color.  Not one thing.  Not sure how I feel about that yet but I have decided I am in love with this outfit.  The flannel is so comfy and and it is my new favorite thing.  I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving, and do let me know in the comments of my video what you would like to see me give away when I reach 1,000 subscribers ;)

Back to School

Madewell top
Free People shorts
Topshop shoes
Rebecca Minkoff bag
Alex and Ani bracelets
Madewell necklace
Chloe sunglasses

I've literally been dreading writing this blog post because it is the last one I will write before heading back to school.  I am definitely one of those typical teenagers that absolutely hates going back to school and would rather be doing anything else.  But this year it's a bit different.  This year, I am starting college.  In three days I am moving to New York City and starting my first year at NYU.  That was a scary sentence.  Of course I'm excited, but I don't think I'm really going to let myself be too enthusiastic until everything has settled and I have gotten through my first week of classes.  I'm just too nervous! However, something that calms my nerves slightly is knowing what I will be wearing on the first day; one less thing to worry about.

The first week of september is basically still the middle of summer so I've opted for shorts and an airy tank top.  These faux Birkenstocks are pretty much the most comfortable shoes in existence, perfect for my 10 minute walk from my dorm on Union Square to my classes on Washington Square Park.  And it is absolutely essential that I still feel like myself with all this change going on, so I've piled on the gold jewelry.  I also made a video on my back to school hair, makeup, and outfit that I've inserted above, or you can watch here

Wow writing this blog post hasn't calmed my nerves at all.  See you on the other side!
