B&W OOTD

Madewell flannel, Free People jeans, Sam Edelman booties, Urban Outfitters bag and bobby pins, Michael Kors watch, Dannijo bracelet

I've found that since I have started living in NYC, I only wear black, white, and grey (gray? I don't think I'll never use the right one).  I try to wear color, but I find that the easiest way to get dressed is a lack of color head to toe.  So when I packed to come home for Thanksgiving, I literally didn't bring anything with color.  Not one thing.  Not sure how I feel about that yet but I have decided I am in love with this outfit.  The flannel is so comfy and and it is my new favorite thing.  I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving, and do let me know in the comments of my video what you would like to see me give away when I reach 1,000 subscribers ;)

My Fall Lookbook is finally here! I feel like I have been hyping this up for way too long but it's my first time doing this sort of video so I am pretty excited about it.  Big shoutout to my wonderful boyfriend Mitchell for filming this for me.  All of the outfit information can be found in the description on YouTube, and I hope you enjoy!

Texture and Anniversaries

H&M dress and sweater, August hat (from Bloomingdales), Urban Outfitters bag, Dr. Martens boots

I have spoken in the past about my love for mixing textures rather than colors, and it seems to be one of the only constants in my wardrobe as my style has changed over the last few years.  I prefer wearing monochrome, or in this case black and white, outfits with contrasting fabrics.  This outfit includes patent leather, distressed leather, cotton, felt, metal, and whatever shaggy material this sweater is made of (the softest fabric in the world, basically). This is another one of my go-to fall outfits, and the third one to be featured in my upcoming lookbook video on my YouTube channel.

Also, it was just the second anniversary of this blog! I cannot believe I have had it for two years already; that seems crazy.  Thanks to everyone who has supported me and continues to support me, it means the world :)

Short Story

Urban Outfitters tee and shorts, Jeffery Campbell sandals, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, Topshop rings, Madewell sunnies and bobby pins

I'm going to stick to the title and keep this short; AP exams are currently happening, I'm exhausted, there is no way I can write a coherent blog post right now, and here is an outfit that I really enjoyed wearing!  First shorts of the season, which is making me so excited. Hope you are all doing well:)

Aruba Outfit Diary

Credit to my bestie Rachel who was on the trip with me for these amazing photographs, love you and miss you<3

Outfit 1: Free People dress, Levi's vest, Madewell shoes and necklace, Urban Outfitters bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch

Outfit 2: Urban Outfitters top and shorts, Francesca's cardigan, Bauble Bar necklace, Fuji polaroid camera, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, Topshop ring

Outfit 3: Free People dress, Mango shoes, Urban Outfitters bag, Michael Kors watch, C Wonder bracelet, Tiffany & Co. ring

Outfit 4: Madewell top, shorts, and shoes, Michael Kors watch, C Wonder bracelet, Dannijo bracelet

Outfit 5 (my favorite): Mink Pink Romper, Mango shoes, Urban Outfitters bag, Bauble Bar necklace, Topshop ring, Flea Market bracelet

Woah not even sure I remember how to write one of these things.  As you may have noticed (because I know you are all very observant), I was in Aruba last week for spring break, hence the lack of posting/social media interaction/general stalker internet presence. I was planning on posting a full Aruba Photo Diary post, but the majority of my time there was spent doing water activities, and because I'm super smart I didn't bring a waterproof camera, so my thrilling adventures of tubing, snorkeling, jet skiing, and general spring break craziness must be left to your imagination. I had the most amazing trip and I'm devastated that I won't be able to go next year because of university. C'est la vie, first world problems, blah blah blah.

Anyway, here are some of the outfits I wore on my nights out on my trip. I wasn't able to shoot all of them as the weather there was a bit crazy and sometimes the wind was too extreme for a clear shot. Editing these photos made me overly excited for summer fashion though. I have decided that I need to invest in approximately 50 more rompers because this one from Mink Pink is my new favorite thing ever. What are you excited to wear for summer?

Hope you are all having a great week!

Bryant Park

Free People dress, Dolce Vita booties, Urban Outfitters bag, Topshop jacket, House of Harlow 1960 necklace

Bryant Park is probably one of my most visited places in all of NYC, so I thought it would be the perfect spot to take some blog shots, as I was in the city on Saturday seeing the new Idina Menzel show If/Then (p.s. it was amazing!!). Whenever I go into the city I try to be as comfortable as possible, and while you might think this outfit doesn't scream comfort, it is actually one of the coziest looks I own. This Free People dress is essentially an oversized cotton sweater, and I could walk miles in these booties and my feet won't ache. Definitely one of my go to outfits to transition from winter to spring. Hope you are all having a great week:)

Aren't You Freezing?!?

Urban Outfitters sweater and socks, LF skirt, Hue tights, Aqua jacket, Zara vest, Dr. Martens boots, Forever 21 beanie

The question asked by a billion people when I walked out in this last weekend: aren't you freezing?!?  The answer is no.  No I am quite happily not freezing, I am actually quite warm in the outfit above.  When I went with my friends into NYC last saturday night, they all showed a bit of concern that I would actually die of being cold in this outfit given the single-digit temperatures in our post-blizzard environment.  But I can assure you, this is probably one of the warmest outfits I own.

Let's start with the tights shall we.  They are thicker than they look and, with another layer of knee-high socks, keep me warmer than my jeans ever could. My Dr. Martens are equal parts warm, comfortable, and weather-proof, making them a must.  Moving up, my leather skirt does quite a good job of blocking out harsh winds and providing a layer of warmth for my stomach before I threw on a thick grey sweater.  Over that is a grey and black jacket and a very puffy leather and tweed and an assortment-of-other-thick-fabrics vest.  Just in case the frigid winds kicked in, I also threw on a beanie and gloves (the kind you can use your phone with of course, otherwise there is just no point).

We actually ended up walking a few miles to the restaurant we went to in NYC, and by the time we got there, I was the only one of my friends that was not absolutely freezing.  I am quite proud of this achievement given their earlier concerns.  I'm thinking this is going to be my go-to snow day outfit, what's yours?

Stay warm! xo, Sophie
